The City of Shreveport (“City”), through its Department of Community Development, is currently accepting public facility proposals for funding consideration under the Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG) for eligible governmental and nonprofit entities. These funds are allocated by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The CDBG program is authorized by the Housing and Community Development (HCD) Act of 1974.   Regulations governing this program can be found at 24 CFR 570.

Acquisition and improvements of public facilities targeted to the elimination of blight within the City of Shreveport and  that promote a public benefit, such as homeless shelters, workforce development centers, healthcare facilities, centers for seniors, historic preservation properties, and other facilities that have significant public benefit will be considered for funding. Housing projects and requests for facility operating costs will not be eligible for consideration under this NOFA.

IMPORTANT UPDATE

Due to maintenance repairs and limited access to the designated drop off location indicated in the NOFA, hand delivery of applications for CDBG-PUBLIC FACILITIES- DUE MONDAY, JUNE 12, 2023 will be limited to Millennium Studios, 300 DOUGLAS STREET, Shreveport, Louisiana 71101 DELIVERY WINDOW: MONDAY, JUNE 12, 2023 between 12:00 P.M.-4:30 P.M.

Again, all hand-delivered applications must be logged in by a Community Development staff member as proof of delivery. Emailed applications may still be submitted at anytime prior to the submission deadline to cdproposals@shreveportla.gov.
