The role of the committee is to approve, deny, or compromise settlements based on legal merits of the claims where amounts exceed $10,000. The committee consists of the Risk Manager, Finance Director, Chief Executive Officer, City Attorney, and two City Council Members.
Safety & Accident Review Board
The Risk Management Division heads the Safety Accident Review Board (SARB) who is charged with reviewing departmental accidents / incidents and determining if a city employee has had a preventable / non-preventable accident / incident.
The City of Shreveport conducts a monthly Safety and Accident Review Board to investigate all preventable and non-preventable accidents involving all city employees.
