Public Works
Public Works is one of the City's largest operating entities and is responsible for maintaining the City of Shreveport's streets and drainage systems, traffic signs, signals and street lights, recycling, solid waste collection and disposal services.  Additionally, this office issues all permits for new construction or remodeling and maintains the majority of all city owned vehicles. 

The Public Works Administration Division includes the Director of Public Works and administrative staff.  The division provides staff support for the Public Works functions within the department.  The division provides oversight of the department's budget, customer service requests, monitors contracts and assists operating divisions in human resource matters.
