City of Shreveport launches Guaranteed Income Pilot

Starting Monday, the application process will open to the public for the Shreveport Universal Basic Income (UBI) Program. The pilot program is a joint effort between the City of Shreveport, Parish of Caddo and United Way of Northwest Louisiana.

SPAR reimplements COVID-19 safety measures

Shreveport Public Assembly and Recreation reinstates COVID-19 protocols at
all facilities. Starting on January 4, only gymnasiums and outdoor open fields
will remain open to the public at SPAR recreation centers.

Due to the recent surge in COVID-19 cases, mask wearing will be required in all
City of Shreveport buildings. Emerging data shows the Omicron variant is more
transmissible than previous strains and may carry an increased risk of reinfection.

Multiple Transports from Early Morning House Fire

Shreveport Fire crews were dispatched at 5:48 a.m. to a reported house fire in the 200 block of West 78th Street, in the Cedar Grove Neighborhood. The call originated from a neighbor who noticed smoke coming from the home.
