Office of the Mayor

Tom Arceneaux was sworn in as Shreveport’s 57th Mayor on December 31, 2022. Mayor Arceneaux is a graduate of Captain Shreve High School, LSU, and LSU Law School and has spent much of his adult life in Shreveport. He is an attorney and has been active in civic affairs, especially as an advocate for the Highland neighborhood, where he lives in a home he restored with his wife, Elizabeth.

Keys to the City
Keys to the City are an honor bestowed by the city upon distinguished persons and honored guests of the City of Shreveport. It symbolizes outstanding civic contributions of the recipients.

Proclamation
Proclamations are usually presented to the recipient at a regular City Council Meeting. They are prepared on letterhead and includes whereas clauses, clause proclaiming a specific event, execution date, city seal, signature of the mayor and enclosed certificate holder. Please submit requests by selecting “Request a Proclamation” on the Office of the Mayor page.

Letters of Honor
Prepared on letterhead that includes information from the requestor of who, what, where, when, and why.
