City Attorney

The City Attorney's Office provides legal advice to the mayorCity Council, and all officers, departments, commissions, boards, and agencies of the City of Shreveport.

This office:
  • Prepares and/or reviews all legislation presented to the City Council
  • Handles all legal instruments to which the city is a party or has an interest in and represents the city in all litigation, including the prosecution of ordinance violations, traffic citations, and charges for DWIs in city courts.
  • Is comprised of 10 full-time and part-time attorneys, and six support staff with most litigation being handled by part-time attorneys.
