Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 is a Federal law that protects people from discrimination based on race, color or national origin in programs or activities that receive federal financial assistance.
Pursuant to Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Restoration Act of 1987 and other nondiscrimination authorities, it is the policy of the City of Shreveport that: Discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, disability/handicap, sex, age, or income status shall be prohibited with regard to programs or activities receiving financial assistance from the City of Shreveport.
