Continuing his leadership and unwavering support for the schools of Shreveport and Caddo Parish, Shreveport Mayor Cedric B. Glover today renewed his PTA membership at ALL Caddo Public Schools for the 2008-2009 school year.

Last year Mayor Glover charted a first and became the only Shreveport Mayor to take such a bold step in joining hands with PTA, Caddo Schools, parents and students. Tuesday October 7, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. at the General Meeting of Caddo District PTA, Mayor Glover presented his personal check of $189.75 to President Margie Rayburn and received sixty-nine PTA membership cards.

“I am always extremely proud to stand with you and work with you in all that you do for the boys and girls, moms, dads and grandparents of this City,” says Mayor Glover. And to be a card-carrying member of all the PTA’s only makes this partnership that much better. However, I’m sending out the message today, that if you don’t have an active PTA, this makes me your PTA president and I’ll be calling a meeting soon.”

Mayor Glover’s PTA support and membership renewal caught the attention of Caddo School Superintendent Dr Gerald Dawkins. President Rayburn announced that he too will join all of his school PTA organizations. “We and the children of Caddo are blessed to have their support,” says Rayburn.
