“Addressing the issue of Public Safety is my number one priority as Mayor of this City.” – Mayor Cedric B. Glover 2007 | As Shreveport Mayor Cedric B. Glover continues to make gains in improving the quality of life for citizens, Tuesday March 4, 2008 begins a series of four town hall meetings, called by Mayor Glover. | The meetings will focus on the Shreveport Police Department’s recently initiated crime-fighting effort, called the Area Concept. The concept gives SPD a more efficient and effective way to reduce crime, dividing Shreveport into four areas, each with its own Assistant Police Chief and Area Commander to focus, on areas that need attention. | “It’s vital to keep citizens informed, involved and engaged as we move towards becoming the Next Great City of the South,” says Mayor Glover. “This round of Town Hall Meetings will educate residents about the Area Concept. They will meet their Area Officers, get to know them, get their telephone numbers and get energized to join the new team-policing approach where officers and citizens work together to address crime.” | Area One - Council Districts A, B | March 4, 2008 | 6-8 PM | Louisiana Technical College | 2010 North Market | Area Two – Council Districts B, C, D | March 13, 2008 | 6-8PM | Captain Shreve High School | 6115 E.
