It’s with deep regret that The City of Shreveport’s Public Assembly and Recreation Department, known as SPAR, has to POSTPONE it’s Free Ice Cream Party, set for Friday July 6, 2007.

“The past days of rain have saturated the grounds at Betty Virginia Park and more rain is in the forecast for today and Friday, so we think it’s best to postpone the party and movie and reschedule it for Friday July 13^th, says SPAR Manager Catherine Kennedy. “That will give the grounds at the park, time to dry out so we can have the best summer event ever”.

Please alert your assignment desks, viewers, listeners and readers of our change of plans and we will look to see you at Betty Virginia Park on Line Avenue, Friday July 13, 2007 at 5:00 pm. The festivities will kick off with lots of FREE Ice Cream, the local band “Intuition” playing cool jazz, Ice Cream contests, face painting, bounce around in the spacewalk, and a chance to ride in a tethered hot air balloon! The evening wraps up with a showing of the “Karate Kid” – brought to you by The Robinson Film Center.
