| Within the next ten days Mayor Cedric B. Glover will name Shreveport’s new police chief. This past weekend the Mayor and his Chief Executive Assistant Dale Sibley wrapped up interviews with all 18 candidates. Interviews were held in the Mayor’s office Thursday May17 and Friday May18. Each interview lasted at least one hour. The final candidate was interviewed Sunday afternoon May 20th. | “I was greatly impressed with the quality of the pool of applicants,” says Glover. “All of them are highly motivated, well trained individuals, eager to lead the fight to make Shreveport a safe and better City.” | “The interviews are complete and there will not be a “short list” of finalists”. | “I will consider all 18 candidates for SPD’s top job. | Shreveport’s new police chief will not be named at Tuesday’s City Council Meeting. Glover says emphatically, “I will name a new chief by the end of the month.” | # # # |
