As a youngster who was always excited about school and understood the value of a good education, tonight Shreveport Mayor Cedric Glover will congratulate hundreds of local students for good grades, good behavior, perfect attendance and outstanding state and national accomplishments.

At 6:00pm at Brookwood Baptist, Mayor Glover will speak to the parents, teachers and principals of 80 boys and girls, elementary through high school, who will be honored as Most Improved Students by the Caddo Federation of Teachers.

From there, Mayor Glover heads to the Shreveport Convention Center at 7:30pm to address a crowd of about 300 and recognize the accomplishments of graduating high school seniors at the Caddo Public School’s Senior Recognition Ceremony.

Among tonight’s honors for top graduates, class presidents, student government presidents, national honor society, national merit finalists and scholarship winners, Mayor Glover is most proud of the students, who didn’t miss one day of school since kindergarten.

“Keeping kids in school and keeping them engaged in the education process, is one of my top education initiatives”, says Glover. “As Mayor of Shreveport, tonight I will take a stand to be the catalyst to motivate more of our boys and girls to achieve the honor of Perfect Attendance in school.”
