Never forgetting the impact that education had on his life, Shreveport Mayor Cedric Glover makes it possible for Caddo Parish Public Schools, Bossier Parish Schools, ArtBreak and KTBS 3’s Summer Reading Festival, to Celebrate Education in Northwest Louisiana. | “This is a Shreveport first”, says Glover. “This premier event will be held April 19-29, under one roof, at the Shreveport Convention Center, allowing parents, students and the community to become engaged in a five major exciting, education-related activities”. | ArtBreak participants and visitors will see first hand the artistic achievements of students in grades PreK through high school, April 23-29. | The KTBS 3 Summer Reading Festival will bring in more than 5,000 second graders to the convention center, from Caddo, Bossier, Desoto and Webster schools, April 23-27. | Caddo Public Schools will honor teachers, principals, students, parents and instructional and support employees at the 3rd Annual Academic Celebration on April 19. | Caddo’s Senior Honors Recognition Banquet will salute graduating seniors who have excelled in academics and extracurricular activities, on April 26. | Caddo’s Teacher Job Fair and Showcase of Schools will welcome prospective classroom teachers to the convention center, April 28, 9:00AM to Noon. | “Celebrate Education” is slated to attract as many as 55,000 citizens to the Shreveport Convention Center. | # # # | Join Us! | Kick Off News Conference | Tuesday April 10 | 2:00 PM | Shreveport Convention Center |
