The City of Shreveport’s Department of Community Development is no longer accepting applications year-round for licensed contractors or new applications from homeowners seeking assistance through the Neighborhood Revitalization Program. | The U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development funds the program so residents can rehabilitate substandard housing and revitalize their respective communities. However, federal funding cuts have made it even more difficult to keep pace with the demand for services. Currently, there is a three-year waiting list and the demand far exceeds the funding available. | Contractors will be solicited on an annual basis to be placed on a rotating bid list for various projects. The application period will run from November 1, 2013, to December 15, 2013.
