The City of Shreveport is proud to announce that it will be the host city for the 2009 Keep Louisiana Beautiful State Conference. | “We are extremely excited about coming to Shreveport,” says Leigh Harris, Executive Director of Keep Louisiana Beautiful. “This is our seventh annual state conference and our first time to set up shop in Shreveport.” | The 2009 conference will focus on issues relating to green living and its impact on community development in Louisiana, trends in litter law enforcement, community building, and the sustainability of community and anti-liter programs. | Expected to draw hundreds from throughout the state, the KLB Annual Conference begins Thursday, August 20, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. at the Shreveport Convention Center. | Keynote speakers include Pennsylvania Horticultural Society Vice President Maitreyi Roy, who will discuss greening work and its effect on community development, Tom Martin, President of Zehnder Communications and Louisiana Secretary of State Jay Dardenne. | Thursday at 1:15 p.m. Shreveport Mayor Cedric B. Glover and his award winning T.B.O.N.E. (Taking Back Our Neighborhoods Everyday) Team will lead off the slate of afternoon workshops. Property Standards Director Jim Holt, Department of Operational Services Director Mike Strong, Shreveport Police Department’s Sgt.
