| “To break the top 100 is quite significant,” says Shreveport Mayor Cedric B. Glover. What Forbes is seeing is the commitment and unyielding hard work of city leaders, business leaders and our citizens to make Shreveport-Bossier a more attractive and valuable place to live and prosper. In spite of what’s happening in the national business and career markets, this is a clear indication that we as a region are meeting the challenges head-on and investing in ourselves and our infrastructure to position ourselves to become The Next Great City of the South.”
| “The Forbes ranking is certainly good news for our area, given the country’s current economic climate,” says Bossier City Mayor Lorenz Walker. “It’s an indication of how our diverse job market and business friendly environment is helping our area weather the storm during economic hard times.”
| Forbes.com rounds out its 2009 rankings surveying the overall job market and for the first time pegs the river-cities at thirty-third, listing Shreveport-Bossier among the top 40 mid-sized “Best Cities for Job Growth” again, charting a momentum in rankings from 2008.
