Those wanting to assist City of Shreveport employee Richard B. Fergerson can do so by contributing to the: RICHARD B. FERGERSON SPECIAL DONATION ACCOUNT at any branch of Capital One Bank. | Floyd Robbins, a co-worker of Fergerson and other fellow DOS-Sanitation Department employees set up the account to assist Fergerson and his family during very trying, stressful and unexpected circumstances. | “This is something we want to do for a friend and an employee who’s done so much for us and for the City,” says Robbins. “We know that many throughout Shreveport and Bossier City share the same feelings of care and support that we have for our city-family member.” | Fergerson, a 30-year employee of the City of Shreveport’s Sanitation Department lost his left leg on April 14, 2009 when a car crashed into him and pinned him behind the sanitation truck he was loading. | “My heart is touched by inquiries from the public and the outpouring of support for Mr. Fergerson,” says Mayor Cedric B. Glover. “I applaud Floyd Robbins and the co-workers of Richard Fergerson for this sincere effort.
