March 31, 2009 - MAYOR GLOVER HONORS CITY’S OLDEST RESIDENT WITH A HISTORIC PROCLAMATION

This afternoon at 2:00 pm at the Magnolia Manor Nursing Home at 1411 Claiborne Avenue in Shreveport Mayor Cedric B. Glover will proclaim today March 31, 2009 as Mrs. Mississippi Wynn Day!

Born in 1897 Mrs. Wynn is the oldest living resident in Shreveport, the second oldest living person in the state of Louisiana and the 28th oldest living person in the world.

“As Mayor and a life-long resident of Shreveport with a great appreciation for the history of this City I am honored, humbled and blessed to share this day with a remarkable woman and pioneer Mrs. Mississippi Wynn,” says Mayor Glover. “Today Mrs. Wynn celebrates her 112th birthday and I urge all citizens of Shreveport to share in this historic day with her and her family.”
