Mayor Cedric B. Glover and the City of Shreveport are proud to announce the first Louisiana Regional College Career Fair which is scheduled for Saturday, April 4, 2009 from 12:30 pm until 5:30 pm at the Shreveport Convention Center. As many as 300 employer or graduate school vendors will set up shop for what is expected to become an annual event at the S.C.C. | “In order to continue to attract employers to our area to hire our college graduates, we have partnered with Ms. Gina Starnes, career services director at Louisiana State University in Shreveport to form a first-of-its-kind alliance of the institutions of higher education in this region,” says Mayor Glover. “This will offer a tremendous opportunity.” | The Louisiana Regional College Career Fair is a collaborative effort by the directors of career services from Bossier Parish Community College, Centenary College, Grambling State University, Louisiana State University in Shreveport, Louisiana Tech University, Northwestern State University, Southern University Shreveport and the University of Louisiana Monroe. | “I applaud Mayor Glover for seeing the big picture and taking the lead in this effort and for his unwavering support of education at all levels,” says Starnes. | The College Career Fair will be open to currently enrolled college students and alumni from any accredited university or college in the country. | NEWS CONFERENCE | Tuesday January 27, 2009 | 2:00 P.M. | Shreveport Convention Center, Red River Room |
