Glover will proclaim Monday, January 19, 2009 as a Day of Service in the City of Shreveport and encourage all citizens to make it “A Day On and Not a Day Off” in keeping with the nation’s observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. | “Dr King taught us to live a life of service and he led by example,” says Mayor Glover. “I encourage all citizens to join thousands of people across the country for an extraordinary day of service.” | Mayor Glover will also announce a City-Wide observance of Dr King’s Birthday on Thursday January 15, 2009 at Riverview Theatre. |
