Children's Programs
Fire Safety Town
Safety Town is a collaborative effort between the Shreveport Fire Department, Caddo Parish Sheriff Department, Louisiana State Troopers, and the Caddo Parish School Board. This greatly needed program targets second grade students, with focus on mitigation of injury and death associated with fire and overall injury prevention. Additional areas of instruction include safety for vehicles, school bus, bicycle, pedestrian, electrical, railroad, natural gas, and gun safety. Caddo Parish and many surrounding parishes and counties in the Ark-Lat-Tex provide students.

In addition, students are taught the curriculum prior to arrival at Safety Town. This program is designed to educate high risk audiences by teaching safety skills and by providing a safe environment to practice those skills.

Fire Safety House
The Safety House is a 30 foot long two-story self contained house used to instruct children what to do if their house should ever be involved in a fire. Additional topics are covered such as the importance of fire safety, smoke detector use, escape plans, and the technique of stop, drop and roll.

Pluggie the Red Fire Hydrant
This is a remote controlled robots with a two-way communication system utilized to deliver fire safety messages.

Flashy
Flashy is a dalmatian in a fire engine. This is a remote controlled robots with a two-way communication system utilized to deliver fire safety messages.

Spot & Sparky
This program uses a dalmatian costume to complement multiple fire safety educational programs.

Stranger Danger Safety
This program is for any age and covers various topics as it relates to encounters with strangers.

Buzz E. Smoke Detector
This is a tabletop display safety house with a smoke detector which plays preset fire safety messages.

EDITH
Exit Drill In The Home (EDITH) teaches participants the importance of a home escape plan and how to get out and stay out in case of a fire.
