Here you will find the list of parades, dates and contact information for the 2015 Mardi Gras parade season. Feel free to contact SPAR Event Services at 318-673-5100 if you have any questions.

What you need to know for the 2015 Parades:
  • Important information from Shreveport Police Department
  • Krewe of Centaur & Krewe of Gemini Parades
    • Street Closures
      • Clyde Fant Parkway, from Milam to Preston, will close at 7 PM Friday, Feb. 6 and Friday, Feb. 13
      • On Parade Days, Clyde Fant will reopen at 7 AM and close at 3:30 PM
      • Clyde Fant from Milam to Lake Street will close at 8:30 AM on Parade Days
      • All roads on parade route close at 3:30 PM on Parade Days - Clyde Fant Parkway from Lake to Preston, Shreveport-Barksdale from Clyde Fant to Youree, E. Kings from Shreveport-Barksdale to Preston, East Preston to Clyde Fant
      • Roads will reopen after the parade ends and Shreveport Police Department deems it safe to reopen roadways
    • Viewing Areas
      • parades start at the corner of Lake Street and Clyde Fant Parkway
      • Floats are not allowed to throw anything prior to the starting point
      • Spots along Clyde Fant Parkway and public right-of-ways are first-come-first-served
      • Spots along E. Kings Highway (Duck Pond) are reserved.  Anyone interested in reserving a spot for 2016, contact SPAR Event Services beginning November 1, 2015 (318-673-5100)
    • Portalets/Public Restrooms
      • Public Use Portalets will be provided throughout the parade route (all public portalets are on city property)
      • Restrooms in the parking lot next to Sci-Port are open 8 AM to 8 PM
      • Private individuals are not authorized to place a portalet on public spaces on the parade route until the morning of the parade
    • Alcohol Consumption
      • No alcohol is allowed to be consumed/sold in the Family Zone.  The Family Zone is on Clyde Fant Parkway south of the railroad bridge to the Stoner Avenue bypass.
      • Per the City Ordinance:  (Ord. No. 2, 2002, 1-22-02; Sec. 78-117) Glass bottles & containers.  It shall be unlawful for a person to possess glass bottles or containers within 200 feet of the parade route on the day of the parade.
    • New for 2015 Parades
      • Take note of the "zones" along the parade route on Clyde Fant Parkway.  There are 11 zones.  The zones are posted on the light poles in the medians.  This information may be useful when calling 911 or letting friends & family know where to find you.
    • Ordinances & "The Big No-no's"
  • African American Parade (February 7th)
    • Parade starts 11 AM on Saturday, February 7th
    • Parade route - Milam Street from Common to North Market, turns north on Market to Texas Street, west on Texas Street to Common, right on Common to Sprague, west on Sprague to Douglas, south on Douglas to Milam.
    • Street Closures:
      • Streets along Parade Route close at 9 AM (Market Street will be down to one lane, southbound)
      • Beginning at 8 AM, Milam from Common to Pete Harris; Common from Cotton to Travis (parade staging) will be closed
      • Oakland Cemetery lot will be closed for parade staging
      • No parking will be allowed on Texas or Milam
