SPAR / MAINTENANCE.

DUTIES: Maintains, repairs and replaces machinery and equipment such as electric motors, pumps, conveyor systems, air-conditioning and heating systems, special operating equipment such as overhead cranes, street painting machines, etc. Uses hand tools, electrical tools, power tools, and precision-measuring and testing instruments. Works from diagrams, sketches, operating manuals, and manufacturers’ specifications. Tests and adjusts machinery and equipment. Installs, repairs, or replaces functional parts and components. Initiates requests for materials. Performs other duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrated ability to apply craft techniques, processes and principles; ability to use independent decision-making judgment concerning maintenance and repairs; ability to apply shop mathematics and to interpret written instructions; spatial discrimination; form perception; eye-hand coordination; and finger and manual dexterity. Two years experience as Maintenance Mechanic II. Hold or be able to qualify for such certificates or licenses as may be required by Federal, State, or City Government.
