T.L. AMISS WATER TREATMENT PLANT
SINCE 1930

The T.L. Amiss Water Treatment Plant, the first station on the site, was completed in 1930 and named Cross Lake Station.

Later (June,1963) the station was renamed in honor of Thos L. Amiss, who was the father of Shreveport's water system from 1901-1963, serving for 44 of those years as superintendent. He was the major force in making the Shreveport water system what it is today by providing the long term vision, planning, and development of the city's water and sewerage systems.
