Office of Public Works Traffic Engineering Traffic Engineering is responsible for the design, installation, and maintenance of traffic signs and signals throughout the City. It maintains the Citys computerized traffic signal system and conducts traffic surveys where modifications are being proposed. It responds to requests for street lights, one-way streets, restricted parking, maintains parking meters, speed limits, provides street striping, and handles barricade requests for all departments. The Traffic Engineer is responsible for an operating budget of $3.6 million. Traffic Engineering is comprised of 39 employees.
