Texting Tips

We have instituted a safe and secure anonymous text message crime tip system. By adding this capability to the Crime Stoppers arsenal, we expect to generate a much greater level of communication with the citizens we serve.

TipSoft SMS is an application which allows tipsters to anonymously submit information to our participating law enforcement agencies. Most of these agencies are utilizing this application through their Crime Stoppers Program. This secure application allows the tipster and the investigator to have two-way dialog while keeping the tipster's identity completely anonymous.

Short Message Service (SMS), often called text messaging, is a means of sending short messages to and from mobile phones. Want tipsters to send tips to you as text messages from their cell phones? See illustration below.

There is no direct cost to the public imposed by Anderson Software or our clients to utilize this service. Standard text messaging rates may apply based on the subscriber's plan with their mobile phone carrier.

How Can I Give A Text Tip?

If you have any information about a crime that's been committed…

1. Text “CADDO plus your message” to CRIMES (274637). You will always remain anonymous.

2. Your information will be taken in strictest confidence. Anonymity is protected and you never have to give your name.

3. You will be given a code number. This should be kept to yourself in order to remain anonymous.

4. Delete your message from the outbox.

5. After several weeks, call Crimestoppers at (318)673-7373, giving your confidential tip code number, and you will receive an update on the status of the investigation.

*** Tips that lead to the arrest of suspects, as well as the recovery of stolen property and drugs are eligible for cash rewards of up to $1,000, which are paid to tipsters on an anonymous basis. ***
