Rap Producer's Murder Remains Unsolved

Quency Collins was killed just over a year ago. On Oct. 12 of last year, he was found shot to death in the driveway of a home at Southern Avenue and East 66th. The 20-year-old budding rap producer was part of a group renting the house as a studio. Collins was staying late that night, cleaning up after a music session. Police believe the killer confronted him at the backdoor.

"There may've been an initial struggle, and then a chase all through the residence," says Shreveport Police Detective Shawn Hinderberger. "It leads all through the residence, being shot at."

Hinderberger says the chase wound up back outside with one last fatal shot. The detective's best information came from a witness who claimed to be driving by.

"He saw a guy named T.B. running from the yard. And that's as far as it went," Hinderberger says. "We have yet to find T.B."

Angela Collins has yet to find closure, saying, "It's a shame that a mother have to lose a child behind something that they don't even know what happened or how."

Hinderberger believes robbery may've been the motive, and there may've been others involved with the gunman.
