Chief Whitehorn to promote ten

Ten Shreveport Police officers will be promoted by Chief of Police Henry Whitehorn Wednesday, December 30, 2009. The ceremony will be held in the Assembly Room, located on the second floor of the Shreveport Police Complex, and will start at 10:00 a.m. The officers to be promoted are as follows:

Lt. Eloise Lewis will be promoted to captain. Lewis joined the department in December of 1980.

Sgt. Johnnie Cook will be promoted to lieutenant. Cook joined the department in Septemer of 1986.

Sgt. Rita James will be promoted to lieutenant. James joined the department in June of 1987.

Sgt. Dennis Pratt will be promoted to lieutenant. Pratt joined the department in September of 1986.

Sgt. Carl Taylor will be promoted to lieutenant. Taylor joined the department in September of 1986.

Cpl. Raymond Bordelon will be promoted to sergeant. Bordelon joined the department in July of 1993.

Cpl. Joe Dews will be promoted to sergeant. Dews joined the department in July of 1993.

Cpl. Matthew Prunty will be promoted to sergeant. Prunty joined the department in April of 1992.

Cpl. Troy Skeesick will be promoted to sergeant. Skeesick joined the department in September of 1991.

Cpl. Laura Sorrells will be promoted to sergeant. Sorrells joined the department in January of 1993.
