Patrol officer, concerned citizen capture Christmas thief

A local man has been arrested by Shreveport Police after a concerned citizen notified authorities of a burglary in progress.

At approximately 12:40 p.m. on December 23, 2009, Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to a call from a concerned citizen who reported that a male suspect had been seen entering a residence in the 3800 block of Richmond Ave. through a window. The caller reported the suspect left the home carrying a flat screen television set. Moments later Cpl. Darrel Miller arrived on scene and observed the suspect running from the scene of the crime. Cpl. Miller pursued the suspect and was able to take him into custody. Officers recovered the victim’s television set and a crow bar they believe the suspect used to break into the residence.

Cpl. Miller subsequently booked 46 year old Reginald Fisher of the 8700 block of Janet Ln. in Shreveport into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling.

Detectives will be following up on this arrest to determine if Fisher is responsible for other similar crimes.
