Earn some extra Christmas cash while making Shreveport a safer place to live With the Christmas holiday just around the corner, the Shreveport Police Department and Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers would like to remind citizens of a crime fighting initiative designed to keep them safe.
“Don’t shoot, I want to grow up” is a program initiated by Chief of Police Henry Whitehorn to remove illegal guns from our streets by offering a reward to people who anonymously inform police of individuals who are illegally carrying or possessing a weapon. It is illegal for anyone without a concealed weapon permit to carry a concealed weapon. It is also illegal for anyone who has been convicted of certain felony crimes to have possession of a firearm.
Shreveport-Caddo Crime Stoppers will pay $200.00 for an illegal handgun and $500.00 for any illegal rifle, shotgun or automatic weapon seized.
The Shreveport Police Department is urging anyone who may know about any illegally possessed firearm to call Shreveport-Caddo Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373 and earn some extra Christmas money while doing something to make our community a better place to live. -spd- View all SPD press releases at www.shreveportla.gov |
