Fatal car crash update

Shreveport Police crash investigators are investigating a fatality crash that occurred this morning.

At approximately 8:52 a.m. this morning, officers were dispatched to the 1800 block of Murphy St. relative to a major crash involving two vehicles. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a 1995 Plymouth was apparently southbound on Norma Ave. crossing Murphy St. when it was struck by a west bound 1999 Ford SUV. The driver of the Plymouth was transported to LSUHSC by the Shreveport Fire Department where she was later pronounced deceased.

Described as an adult female, the victim’s name is not being released at this time pending notification of her family. The driver of the Ford, identified as 40 year old Barron Carter of Vivian, LA and his passenger, 32 year old Tasha Collins of Shreveport, were both transported to LSUHSC by the Shreveport Fire Department with what have been described as non life threatening injuries.

No citations have been issued at this time and crash investigators are working to determine exactly what caused this crash.

***Update***

The woman killed in a two vehicle crash this morning in the 1800 block of Murphy has been identified as 68 year old Mary Hill of Shreveport. The investigation into the cause of the crash is still ongoing.
