Shreveport Police arrest would be robber Shreveport Police have arrested a local man who apparently attempted to rob a west Shreveport convenience store this morning disguised as a clown.
At approximately 4:20 a.m. this morning, Shreveport Police patrol officers were dispatched out to the Stop N Shop in the 4900 block of Jewella Ave. relative to a possible attempted robbery. The clerk reported to dispatchers that a male suspect wearing a blue jumpsuit and a clown mask walked into the store and just hung around. The masked man never said anything to the clerk and never produced a weapon. After a short time, the man in the clown mask fled the store running toward Doris St. Fearing he was about to be robbed, the clerk locked the doors and called police.
Cpl. Cody Cisco and Cpl. Robbie Morman located a male fitting the description of the suspect in the 4000 block of Doris and were able to detain him after a brief foot pursuit. Cisco and Morman located a .22 caliber handgun on the suspect’s person and also found a clown mask in ditch just feet from where they were finally able to apprehend the suspect. Officers subsequently arrested 21 year old JaMarcus Wilson of the 500 block of Seneca Tr. in Shreveport and have booked him into the Shreveport City Jail on one count each of convicted felon in possession of a firearm and resisting an officer.
