Shreveport Police seeking vehicle, suspects in shooting

Shreveport Police detectives are looking for a suspect who shot at another man this afternoon in Shreveport’s Queensborough neighborhood.

At approximately 12:50 p.m. this afternoon, Shreveport Police received a suspicious activity call regarding a subject getting a firearm out of a vehicle and then following another vehicle in the 3400 block of Mertis Ave. A Shreveport Police patrol officer happened to be at that location working an unrelated call when he observed a red Cadillac pull into the parking lot at the Fair Park Terrace Apartments followed by a tan four door vehicle, possibly a Ford Crown Victoria. A male suspect in the tan vehicle produced a shotgun and fired at least three shots at the Cadillac. The patrol officer, literally just yards away, engaged the suspect firing the shotgun and fired several rounds from his department issued handgun at the suspect. The suspects then fled the scene.

The patrol officer was not injured nor was the victim, identified as 21 year old Tramarcus Morgan of Shreveport. No one in the apartment complex was injured but at least two vehicles other than the Cadillac were struck by gunfire. The suspect vehicle was occupied by three male suspects at the time of the shooting. Detectives believe this shooting may stem from some type of dispute between the victim and one of the suspects, but the investigation is ongoing.
