Shreveport Police searching for suspect in shooting Shreveport Police are looking for a local man who allegedly shot another man last week.
At approximately 8:03 a.m. on November 12, 2009, Shreveport Police patrol officers were dispatched to the 2400 block of Stonewall St. in Shreveport’s Queensborough neighborhood relative to a shooting. Upon arrival there, officers discovered 19 year old Christopher Jackson suffering from two gunshot wounds. Jackson was transported to LSUHSC by the Shreveport Fire Department with what were described as non life threatening injuries.
Upon investigation, detectives have learned that Christopher Jackson had been involved in some type of ongoing dispute with 37 year old Quintrail Merritt of the 3000 block of Judson St. in Shreveport. Investigators believe that Merritt, who was in a vehicle, drove by Jackson, who was walking on Stonewall St., and fired a handgun at him, striking him twice. Merritt then fled the scene of the crime.
Detectives now have a warrant for the arrest of Quintrail Merritt charging him with one count of aggravated battery. Merritt’s bond has been set at $20,000. Anyone with any information regarding Quintrail Merritt or his whereabouts is urged to call Shreveport Police detectives at 318-673-6955 or Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373. -spd- View all SPD press releases at www.shreveportla.gov |
