Shreveport Police arrest suspect for attempted robbery

Shreveport Police have arrested a man who attempted to rob a west Shreveport bank this afternoon.

At approximately 1:21 p.m. this afternoon, patrol officers were dispatched to the Capitol One Bank in the 7100 block of Pines Rd. relative to a suspicious activity call. The caller advised officers that a male suspect had been walking around the front of the bank acting suspiciously. The caller reported the man had even entered the bank, suddenly walked out and then got in his vehicle and parked across the street from the bank, apparently “casing” the business. Responding officers were able to locate the suspect, identified as Joshua Hastings, and take him into custody. Officers also found a mask and latex gloves in the vehicle. Investigators questioned Hastings and discovered he was attempting to rob the bank there.

Detectives have arrested 30 year old Joshua Hastings of the 1000 block of Japonica Ln. in Shreveport and booked him into the city jail on one count of attempted simple robbery.
