Shreveport Police and local neighborhood association to host bicycle rodeo

The Shreveport Police Department and the West Peak Neighborhood Association will be hosting a bicycle rodeo this Saturday as part of an ongoing commitment to educate our children and keep them safe.

The bicycle rodeo will be held this Saturday, October 17, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Bill Cockrell Park, located in the 4100 block of Pines Rd. Community Liaison Officers and Neighborhood Assistance Team Officers with the department's Community Oriented Policing Bureau will be on hand to teach children 12 years old and under the fundamental rules of bicycle safety. Officers will be giving away three bicycles before the event is over and parents are encouraged to bring their little ones to learn some important safety tips that just might save a life.

Participants are asked to bring their own bicycles and protective gear. For further information, please call the Shreveport Police Department’s Community Oriented Policing Bureau at 318-673-6950.
