Shreveport Police find attempted robbery suspect hiding in sofa

Shreveport Police have captured a local man wanted for attempted armed robbery after receiving a tip from Caddo Shreveport Crime Stoppers.

At approximately 10:30 a.m. this morning, officers and detectives responded to a residence in the 3800 block of Cleveland St. after receiving a tip from Caddo Shreveport Crime Stoppers that Johnathan Lewis was hiding out there. Detectives had obtained a warrant for the arrest of Lewis in connection with the attempted armed robbery of a transmission shop back on July 9, 2009.

Upon arrival at the residence on Cleveland St., officers located 18 year old Johnathan Lewis, of the 3800 block of Cleveland, hiding inside of a sofa between the cushions and the springs. Once extricated from the couch, Lewis was taken into custody and has been booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of attempted armed robbery. Lewis’ bond is set at $75,000.
