Shreveport Police searching for bank robber Shreveport Police are looking for a man who robbed a southeast Shreveport bank this afternoon.
At approximately 12:08 p.m., patrol officers were dispatched to the Home Federal Savings and Loan in the 6300 block of Youree Dr. relative to a robbery. Upon arrival, officers learned that a black male suspect wearing a long sleeved blue sweatshirt, blue jeans, white Nike tennis shoes, armed with a silver and black semi-auto handgun entered the bank and jumped the counter, pointing the weapon at employees. He demanded all of the money and then began opening the cash drawers himself. He retrieved an undisclosed amount of money and jumped the counter and ran out of the bank. The suspect, who is approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, was wearing sunglasses, possibly a wig and latex gloves. No one was injured during the robbery.
Officers received information that the suspect may have fled into an adjacent apartment complex, but were unable to locate the suspect. Another witness told investigators they observed the suspect flee the scene in a red Chevrolet Corvette.
Police detectives are now asking for your help in identifying and apprehending this bank bandit. Anyone with any information regarding this suspect's identity or whereabouts is urged to call Shreveport Police Detective Richard Turpen at 318-673-6955 or CrimeStoppers at 318-673-7373.
