Suspect arrested for 10 counts of Attempted 1st Degree Murder

Suspect: Derrick Watkins, A.K.A. Gary Watkins, A.K.A. G-Money

On July 22, 2009, after a brief foot pursuit, Shreveport Police arrested Derrick Watkins in the 3600 block of Sumner.  Watkins had warrants for both Burglary and domestic abuse Battery and was charged with 10 counts of Attempted 1st Degree Murder. 

On March 06, 2009, it was reported that Watkins had been calling and threatening an ex-girlfriend. Watkins stated that he was going to shoot up a house in the 3600 block of Sumner. The victims were in the process of trying to leave the residence when Watkins cut them off. Watkins and another B/M exited a vehicle, and Watkins, armed with a rifle, began firing at the victim’s vehicle. The victim’s car was struck at least 16 times but no one was hit. Patrol located Demarius Hobley on March 06, 2009, and he was arrested for principle for Attempted First Degree Murder.
