Detectives arrest second man in homicide

Shreveport Police detectives have arrested another man in connection with a shooting yesterday morning that left a local man dead.

At approximately 8:57 a.m. yesterday morning, Shreveport Police patrol officers were dispatched to the C and C Liquor Grocery and Deli located at 5130 Broadway relative to a shooting. Upon arrival there, officers found 21 year old Deolandis Johnson suffering from at least two gunshot wounds to the head and upper torso. Johnson was transported to LSUHSC by the Shreveport Fire Department where he was later pronounced deceased.

Based on evidence recovered at the scene and other information gathered by detectives, police have arrested 32 year old Kunta Kente Green of the 4800 block of Kennedy in Shreveport and charged him with one count of second degree murder. As part of their ongoing investigation, detectives have now charged another man in connection with this murder. Investigators have arrested 35 year old Robert Lee Saxton of the 2500 block of Regent St. in Shreveport and booked him into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of illegally supplying a felon with a firearm and one count of illegally supplying a felon with ammunition. Detectives believe Saxton gave Kunta Kente Green a weapon and ammunition knowing Green was a convicted felon.
