Local man shot and killed, suspect on the run Shreveport Police are investigating a morning shooting that left a Shreveport man dead.
At approximately 8:57 a.m. this morning, Shreveport Police patrol officers were dispatched to the C and C Liquor Grocery and Deli located at 5130 Broadway relative to a shooting. Upon arrival there, officers found 21 year old Deolandis Johnson suffering from at least two gunshot wounds. Johnson was transported to LSUHSC by the Shreveport Fire Department where he was later pronounced deceased.
Detectives have learned that Johnson was walking out of the store there on Broadway when he was approached in the parking lot by a male suspect who produced a handgun and fired at least two shots at him. Investigators believe that Johnson was involved in some type of altercation last night with a group of people and this shooting stems from that encounter.
Based on evidence recovered at the scene and other information gathered by detectives, police have identified the suspected gunman and obtained a warrant for his arrest. Police are now looking for 32 year old Kunta Kente Green of the 4800 block of Kennedy in Shreveport. Green has a warrant outstanding for his arrest charging him with one count of second degree murder. The bond on the warrant is set at $250,000. Investigators believe Green should be considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone with any information regarding Kunta Kente Green or his whereabouts is urged to call Shreveport Police detectives at 318-673-6955 or CrimeStoppers at 318-673-7373.
