Shreveport Police identify deceased person

Shreveport Police have identified a woman found deceased in west Shreveport last night.

At approximately 7:23 p.m. on July 13, 2009, Shreveport Police patrol officers were dispatched to a wooded area just east of Woolworth Rd. at it’s intersection with Walnut Hills Dr. regarding a female being found deceased in a vehicle at that location. A resident who lives in the area had found the vehicle in the woods and called police to investigate. Upon arrival, officers did indeed locate a deceased woman in a Ford pick-up truck there.

Detectives were immediately dispatched and began an investigation. Based on information gained as a result of this investigation, detectives have identified the deceased as 69 year old Annette Newsom. Ms. Newsom had been reported as a missing person from Tyler, Texas back on July 9, 2009. At this time, detectives do not believe foul play was involved in the death of Ms. Newsom, but the investigation is ongoing.
