Shreveport Police investigating fatality crash

Shreveport Police crash investigators are investigating a fatality crash that occurred yesterday afternoon in west Shreveport.

At approximately 3:27 p.m. yesterday afternoon, officers were dispatched to the 3800 block of Greenwood Rd. relative to a major crash involving two vehicles. Upon investigation, officers discovered that a Ford Escort operated by 69 year old M.T. Lee, Jr. of Shreveport apparently was heading west bound on Greenwood Rd. when the vehicle crossed the double yellow line and struck a Toyota Camry being operated east bound on Greenwood Rd. by 23 year old Candace Dotson, also of Shreveport. Mr. Lee was transported to LSUHSC by the Shreveport Fire Department with critical injuries and was later pronounced deceased at the hospital. Ms. Dotson was transported to Willis-Knighton South with what has been described as non life threatening injuries.

This investigation is ongoing and officers are working to determine if there were any other factors that may have contributed to this crash
