Shreveport Police arrest suspect in connection with stabbing

Shreveport Police have arrested a male suspect in connection with a stabbing reported early this morning.

At approximately 3:20 a.m. this morning, Shreveport Police patrol officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Commerce St. relative to a stabbing. Upon arrival there, officers discovered 27 year old Crystal Lejay suffering from a minor laceration to her stomach. Lejay was transported to LSUHSC with what has been described as a non life threatening wound. There was another male victim but he refused to cooperate with authorities and fled the scene. As the result of an investigation into this stabbing, officers have arrested 23 year old Michael K. Munroe of the 400 block of Highland Ave. in Shreveport and charged him with one count of aggravated battery.

Munroe was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on that charge as well as one count of possession of schedule II narcotic and one count of introduction of contraband into a penal facility. Munroe is also a fugitive from the Dekalb County, Georgia Sheriff’s Office.
