Shreveport Police investigate overnight homicide Shreveport Police are investigating a late night shooting that left a Shreveport man dead.
At approximately 11:23 p.m. last night, Shreveport Police patrol officers were dispatched to the 3100 block of Darien St. in Shreveport’s Queensborough neighborhood relative to a shooting. Upon arrival there, officers discovered that 27 year old Robert Franklin had been shot in the chest by an unknown suspect. Franklin was transported to LSUHSC by the Shreveport Fire Department where he was later pronounced deceased.
Detectives have learned that Robert Franklin and some friends were gathered in front of a residence there in the 3100 block of Darien St. when a vehicle described by witnesses as a grey or silver Cadillac Deville occupied by three black male subjects and possibly operated by a black female passed by the residence twice. On the third pass, a black male suspect leaned outside one of the car windows and began firing a handgun at the group. Franklin was subsequently struck once in the chest. Crime Scene Investigators have recovered some evidence at the scene and detectives are working to determine who is responsible for the death of Robert Franklin.
