Shreveport Police investigate shooting Shreveport Police are investigating a shooting this afternoon that left a man dead and a woman seriously injured. At approximately 3:25 p.m. this afternoon, Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to a report of a shooting at the Phlawless Cuts Barber Shop in the 3200 block of Lakeshore Dr. Upon arrival there, officers discovered a female suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and a male suffering from a single gunshot wound to the head. The female was transported to LSUHSC by the Shreveport Fire Department with what has been described as life threatening injuries and the male was pronounced deceased at the scene. Based on preliminary interviews and evidence collected at the crime scene, detectives believe that 27 year old Jarien Law of the 3800 block of W. College St. in Shreveport entered the barber shop and initiated some type of argument with 26 year old Yosilla Tramiel of the 2800 block of Alabama Ave. in Shreveport. The nature of the verbal conflict between Law and Tramiel as recounted by witnesses has led investigators to believe that there may have been some type of romantic relationship between the two. During the course of this argument, Law produced a handgun and fired multiple shots at Tramiel, striking her several times. It is believed that Law then turned the gun on himself and committed suicide. Detectives are still actively investigating this case and urge anyone with any information regarding this shooting to call Shreveport Police detectives at 318-673-6955 or CrimeStoppers at 318-673-7373. spd- View all SPD press releases at www.shreveportla.gov |
