Homicide suspect arrested in Rhode Island

A man wanted in connection with the murder of a Shreveport teen has been taken into custody by authorities in Rhode Island.

Joshua Parker, 20 years of age, was arrested by United States Marshals and Rhode Island State Troopers this afternoon at approximately 1:00 p.m. for an outstanding arrest warrant charging him with one count of first degree murder. Parker is accused of shooting and killing 17 year old Phillip Livigni back on June 5, 2009 in the 9900 block of Smitherman.

Shreveport detectives were notified of the arrest this afternoon and did not have any more details concerning the circumstances of Parkers capture. Investigators are still searching for 20 year old Norman “Don” Heflin who has a second degree murder warrant outstanding for his arrest in connection with Livigni's death.
