Shreveport Police Youth Fishing Camp to kick off tomorrow

The Shreveport Police Department’s 2009 Youth Fishing Camp will start tomorrow morning at 8:00 a.m. and run until 12:00 p.m.

The Youth Fishing Camp will be held at the department’s Cross Lake Patrol Headquarters located at 2900 Municipal Pier Rd. on beautiful Cross Lake. The camp is an exciting, fun, and educational day for children ages 6 to 13. The children will not only get to fish, but will also learn about, among other topics, floatation devices and boating safety, skin cancer prevention, and alcohol and drug prevention. Lunch will be provided for the kids.

The media is encouraged to attend and see first hand this unique opportunity for area children to interact with law enforcement officers in a non-traditional setting and learn safety skills that will serve them for a lifetime.
