Shreveport Police investigate report of beating, kidnapping

Shreveport Police officers are investigating a report of a domestic argument that turned violent this morning.

At approximately 8:10 a.m. this morning, officers were dispatched to a convenience store in the 5400 block of W. 70thSt. in Shreveport relative to an assault. Upon arrival there, officers contacted the adult female victim who advised them she spent the night at her ex-boyfriend’s home last night and when she awoke this morning, he attacked her and physically beat her.

She stated that the offender then forced her and her 2 year old child into his vehicle and started driving. The victim was able to escape by jumping from the moving vehicle in the 5400 block of W. 70thSt. with her child. The victim suffered minor injuries and the child was not hurt.

Detectives have obtained an arrest warrant for 34 year old Thurman Lee Boyd, Jr. of the 4200 block of Henry St. in Shreveport charging him with second degree kidnapping in connection with this case. Officers are working at this time to apprehend him. Boyd has two other warrants outstanding for his arrest as well. Detectives believe Boyd should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone who has any information regarding Thurman Lee Boyd, Jr. or his whereabouts is urged to call Shreveport Police Detective Lane Smith at 318-673-6955 or Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373.
