Shreveport Police search for suspect

Shreveport Police detectives need your help in locating a local man wanted in connection with a police pursuit.

In the early morning hours of May 21, 2009, Shreveport Police patrol officers attempted to stop a vehicle on Lakeshore Dr. after observing a traffic violation. The driver refused to stop for officers and led them on a pursuit through the Queensborough neighborhood, eventually wrecking the vehicle at W. College and Missouri. The suspect fled the scene on foot and was able to elude officers.

Detectives have identified the suspect as 29 year old Chadward C. Welch of the 2800 block of W. Caperton in Shreveport. There is an arrest warrant outstanding for Welch, charging him with one count of aggravated flight from an officer. There is no bond. Detectives believe Chadward C. Welch should be considered armed and dangerous.
